Rug Cleaning World Keyword:
My very 1st keyword for my very 1st online business!

I'm psyched to tell you about the first business I'm going to start! It's an Authority Niche Blog about Rug Cleaning. This post is about how I found the keyword and the pros and cons that it has.

My very first Keyword!

I just found my very first keyword! And I'm going to tell you everything about it... How I found it, what I like (and don't like) about it, what I can (and can't) expect from it, etc.

This can be very helpful to you!

If you've already found a keyword to start a blog, try to find similarities and/or differences with your keyword to see if your keyword is a money maker! If you haven't found it yet, this post can help you know what to look for and what to avoid. I'm publishing my Income Reports every month so you know how this keyword is doing and how long it took me to rank high on Google. I'm so excited to tell you about this new project!

What I was looking for

The truth is... any keyword can be good if whoever is behind it knows what he/she is doing. But that's not the point of this post (nor this blog). The point is that I'm a newbie. And I needed to find a keyword that would make me money without investing years in the process.

So... I was looking for a keyword that would allow me to rank pretty fast on Google and start making money ASAP. I didn't care if I only made a couple of dollars a week, I wanted to see for myself that ranking on Google is possible.

But that's not "exactly" what I found.

I found "Rug Cleaning"! It's a tough keyword for a beginner, but not impossible (we'll get to why in a minute). Why go for it then? Because it was too good of an opportunity just to let it slide. If I do rank, I'm not just going to make "a couple of dollars a week", but much more!

And if I do make a lot of money with my first Niche Blog... why not you?

How I found it: My Process!

I wrote a post that contains my step by step strategy on how to find profitable keywords. If you haven't checked it out, please do! I think is one of my best posts to date. Anyway, in this section I just wanted to tell you that I found the keyword "Rug Cleaning" while on the trial period of Mangools!

If you've read my strategy, you know what I'm talking about. Mangools has a tool they call "KWFinder". It's an amazing tool that will simplify the way you look for keywords so much! I first signed up for the trial (10 days) and I honestly found my first keyword during the trial period. Of course, I did end up buying the product because it's so helpful! But even if you don't want to buy a subscription, signing up for the trial period is super useful! And who knows! You might be as lucky as I was :)

What I like about it

There are many things I like about this keyword, but I wanted to let you know about the ones that really stand out. These are pretty much the reasons why I'm taking action and starting a blog right away.

1. Low Backlink Competition

The first thing that you see when you're analyzing a keyword in Mangools is the "Keyword Difficulty". For "Rug Cleaning" it was promising at 18:

But what really got me thinking was the fact that not a single result in the SERP overview had over 100 links. And that's promising! I know with hard work I can get over 100 links, so that's a good start.

A further investigation into the SERP's, was also satisfying and provided more information:

It is well known that backlinks are a very important part of SEO, so the fact that these results don't have a lot of backlinks is a good thing. A very good thing indeed.

But that's not all! It has over 30,000 monthly searches from the USA alone! That should be more than enough to monetize this keyword as long as I'm able to rank on the first results.

Don't take Keyword Difficulty too seriously

You might know already, because I've said it a couple of times in different posts, but KW Difficulty changes quite frecuently. So don't take it too much into consideration! It's a tool that should help you decide whether or not you should look into a keyword, but not a deal-breaker or deal-maker itself.
As an example, here is another caption I did of Rug Cleaning. It went up by 5 points in a couple of days! But that doesn't mean that it's a harder keyword.
I still think is amazing!

2. Fairly Static Content

If you've read my page on How to make money blogging, you know that there are multiply types of Authority Niche Sites. Some of them are more static than others (E.g. An authority niche site regarding Apple products has to be updated constantly. On the other hand, an air conditioning website can have more static content).

I wasn't strictly looking for it, but I wanted my Authority Niche blog to be as static as possible. Why? Because I want to start 3 online businesses (it's my main professional goal for 2019), not just 1! If one of those businesses is more static that the others, that will help me concentrate my efforts on the other websites.

That doesn't mean that I'm not going to be publishing content regularly and promotion my site, but I think that having a little bit more leg room to operate will be nice in the future.

That being said... I love that "Rug Cleaning" is very static! I'm going to have to spend a lot of time creating great content, but from then it's going to be promotion, promotion and promotion.

3. Multiple Monetization Strategies

I still have to work this out, but I feel like I can monetize my Rug Cleaning site in many different (and compatible) ways. These are the monetization strategies I've considered:

A. Place Ads: If someone is looking for rug cleaning, they probably want to do it themselves or hire a professional. Either way, placing ads can be a great monetization strategy because you can sell both professional services and products.

B. Affiliate Marketing: I could also test and review the best rug cleaners and make some affiliate marketing money. It's not going to be a lot of money, because the comissions are pretty low, but it could help.

C. Sell to professionals: I don't think I'll be able to sell anything to the people looking to clean their rugs, but I might be able to sell something to rug cleaning professionals. Maybe a course on how to find prospects online could work or something similar to it. I'll concentrate my email marketing on this segment because selling your own product is always the best option if you want to make real money!

And that's about it! Not to many profit streams, but very promising! This is looking great!

4. Super positive trend??

This is something that I don't fully understand, but it simply works! For some reason rug cleaning is being looked for more and more every year! I have no idea if the trend will continue, but if it does it would be nice to be the number 1 blog in that category!

Here are a couple of screenshots I took from the KWFinder tool:

Finding this out was a nice and welcome surprise! Who could've known?

What I don't like about it

But it's not all good news. There's also a couple of things I don't like about "Rug Cleaning" as a keyword. If this keyword doesn't work the way I expect it to, I'm pretty sure it will be because I wasn't able to create good content and promote it correctly, not because of these things.

However, these things can (and probably will) make it a lot harder to rank and grow organically.

1. Very Tough Related Keywords

We've already seen that rug cleaning is a great keyword because it has over 30,000 searches every month and because there's not a lot of competition.

However! Every other related keyword in this niche is tough. And I mean, very very tough. I created a list of related keywords and looked each and every single one of them on mangools. It doesn't look good...

I think I'm going to be able to rank for "Rug Cleaning", but I can pretty much forget about ranking in the short run for "Carpet cleaning", "Carpet Cleaners", etc. In the future... who knows! Those keywords have a lot of monthly searches, so it would be great to try to rank for those keywords as well. I just don't see it happening any time soon.

Here is a Mangools screenshot that illustrates how difficult the related keywords are:

2. Difficult Guest Posting

As you already know, the websites ranking for "Rug Cleaning" don't have a lot of backlinks. But there might be a reason why... There aren't many specialized blogs on rug cleaning. Not enough to build a consistent backlink strategy based solely on other niche blogs.

I think I will be able to get backlinks, but I'm going to have to be creative. That's all.

Buying a domain

Last, but not least, I bought a domain! This is actually a pretty big deal, because when you buy your domain it means that you're taking action. Until you do, you have nothing!

I read that a lot of people recommend adding the keyword to the domain name, so that's what I did. However! This is something that I'd like to put to the test one day. I don't think it's THAT relevant. As a matter of fact, this blog "My Little Green Car" doesn't have the keywords "Niche Blogging" or "Make money blogging" on the url, yet I hope to rank one day for those keywords.

I looked for many alternatives, but I finally decided to buy as my domain. I think is a good option because the word "world" implies that I can talk about anything related to that topic. And I want to become the authority on this niche, so that's a good thing!

BTW, in case you were wondering... I used Namecheap to buy my domain. I've tried many different registrants, and Namecheap has always been one step above all it's competitors (in my experience). But don't worry too much... you can't go wrong choosing a registrant. And if you do, you can always transfer your domain somewhere else. If you end up using Namecheap, please check my resources page for coupons! If I do have them (and I usually do), I'll post them there.

The story has just begun!

I wanted to finish this post by thanking you. Thanks for being here! If you're reading this, it means that you're interested in this little project I just started. And that means so much to me! If you want to keep reading and find out what happened to Rug Cleaning World click here and you'll find a list with all the posts related to the evolution of my first blog ever.

I have no online experience but I really want to be able to make money online and work from home! If you're in the same situation, take action and let's learn together! I'm taking action now because I want to make a full-time income in 11 months thanks to niche blogging.

What are your reasons not to do the same?
