The essentials

I'll be adding new things I use as we go, but for now I just want to answer the question I'm getting all the time... How do I take my pictures?

I'm not a professional photographer and I only use 3 products to take my pictures! These aren't cheap products, but are absolutely worth their money. Full disclosure! The links in this page are affiliate links. That means that, at no extra cost to you, I get a small comission if you decide to buy. Keep in mind that I only recommend the gear that I regularly use myself and know from top to bottom!

That being said, let's get started!

MY CAMERA: SONY a 7 II

I use a mirrorles camera called Sony Alpha a7II. With this camera I can take high quality pictures, without having to carry a big and heavy DSLR everywhere. Having owned both Canon and Nikon DSLR's I can safely say that I'm never going back. Mirrorless is so much better! And when it comes to mirrorless, Sony is the king of the hill. The model I'm using isn't the latest model, but it's more than I need. Check the price here!

MY LENS: SONY 55mm 1.8

A good camera needs a good lens if you want to take advantage of all the pixels you're paying for. And when it comes to lenses for my Sony A7II, the Sony FE ZA 55mm F1.8 is my #1 choice. Every single picture has been taken with that lens. The bokeh (or blurred background) is simply beautiful. And it's extremely sharp! Trust me, you can't go wrong with this lens. It's a beast! But it's also very small. The perfect travel companion for a mirrorless camera! Check the price here!

MY TRIPOD

When my husband isn't with me or we want to take a family picture a lightweight and reliable tripod it's a must. I use the Sony VCT-R640 Lightweight Tripod because I wouldn't trust a $15 dollar tripod with my expensive camera and lens. It's simply not worth it! A couple more bucks and you get this strong and lightweight tripod that will last for ever! It's always in the back of my car in case I need it. And that happens quite often!

And that's all! I don't want to recommend a lot of products. Just the ones I think will take your pictures to the next level. And with this 3-things kit, you can't go wrong.

Enjoy!
